Interestingly enough, singleness appears to be on the rise in our culture. The Census Report indicated that in 2021, there were 122 million Americans who are divorced or widowed or have always been single. My guess is that many of the 122 million Americans characterize their lives by what they lack, specifically they lack a spouse. Our singleness does not have to become a long and lonely life looking for a a marriage partner.
Surely, Paul and Jesus, who both were single found complete wholeness in a life, full of loving relationships with friends, families, neighbors and coworkers. Love come in many shapes, forms and emotional connections.

Now, my Virtuous Sisters, my message today is not to forfeit your prayers for a mate. However, rather my message is that we do not get hyperfocused on our lack of a mate. Another perspective is to focus on the abundance of purpose and service to the kingdom of God. When we become satisfied with our singleness, we will become more attractive to the right mate.
We must work to be whole and complete as we pray for another whole and complete mate. If not, then we are unprepared for marriage.

I am offering you an opportunity to learn to avoid living from a place of lack. The Apostle Paul viewed his singleness as a “gift from God” (1 Corinthians 7:7). He was hyperfocused on “the things of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 7:32). Our Virtuous Sister Ruth chose to live and serve God and her mother-in-law rather than mope over not having a husband. And we see what God did in her life. She chose a Kingdom focus and ended up royalty herself as she birth one of the ancestors of Jesus Christ (Ruth 1-4). Our Boaz is out there ladies. No need to fret.
